Croatian Accreditation Agency was founded on the Law on Accreditation  (Official Gazette 158/03) and the Decree of Establishment initiated by the Government of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 158/04 and 44/05) with the purpose to:

  • Develop and implement the Croatian national accreditation system
  • Provide technical support to the state administration in nominating conformity assessment bodies
  • Contribute to concluding agreements with the EU on recognizing conformity assessment and accepting industry products (PECA / ACAA Agreements)
  • Provide support to the economy in gaining competitiveness

gumb LAW ON ACCREDITATION (Official Gazette no. 158/03)

Article 4, item 2, specifies that the Accreditation Body, among other tasks, performs the "other assessments or competences for conformity assessment, including confirmations of fulfilling requests for conformity assessments in accordance with the conformity assessment regulations for legal entities or individuals."

Article 8 specifies the role of the Accreditation body in the conformity assessment such as:
"In stipulations that regulate conformity assessment may be specified the procedure of participating accredited body in the process of nominating conformity assessment body along with the regulation requirements"
