Hrvatska akreditacijska agencija (HAA)/Croatian Accreditation Agency

is an independent and non for profit public institution that acts as the national accreditation service in the Republic of Croatia.

The Croatian Accreditation Agency has been founded by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Croatia (NN 158/2004 and 44/2005), based on the Law on Accreditation (NN 158/2003).

HAA was established in order to implement technical regulations reconciled with the acquis communautaire of the European Union. Technical regulations control the safety of products and free movement of goods on the internal market, citizens' health protection, consumers' protection, environment protection and other relevant public interest areas.
Conformity assessment of products, procedures and services with technical regulations and standards are implemented by professional and technical competent laboratories, certification and inspection bodies.

Accreditation is an internationally acknowledged assessment body for carrying out conformity assessment tasks.

Accredited bodies provide confidence in testing services, certification and inspection regardless services are provided for state administration (regulated area) or clients in accordance with the contract (voluntary area).

HAA is an independent, non-for-profit and non-commercial national accreditation institution complying with all the international and European standards for accreditation bodies recognized in the Republic of Croatia as the Croatian Standard  HRN EN ISO/IEC 17011:2005.

Recognition of the credibility of the Croatian accreditation system ensuring thus acceptance of Croatian conformity assessment system of products and services internationally.

• Accreditation of certified organizations for products  (HRN EN 45011)
• Accreditation of certificated organizations for the quality system management  (HRN EN ISO/IEC 17021)
• Accreditation of certified organizations for environment system management (HRN EN ISO/IEC 17021)
• Accreditation of certified organizations for personnel  (HRN EN ISO/IEC 17024)
• Accreditation of inspection/supervision organizations  (HRN EN ISO/IEC 17020)
• Assessment and competence certification of conformity assessment in regard with technical regulations
• Supervision of accredited organizations
• Implementation and management of accredited organizations register and conformity assessment bodies
• Technical support to the state administration bodies for the implementation of accreditation policy in the conformity assessment area
• Concluding agreements on recognizing Multilateral Agreements(MLA)
• Promotion of accreditation and education about accreditation

HAA represents the Republic of Croatia and participates in the European and International organizations for accreditation.

HAA is a full member of the European co-operation for accreditation.

HAA is an associated member of ILAC ( International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation )

Accreditation regulations comply with the European standards from the series 45000 and international standards from the Series 17000, accepted as Croatian standards, as well as the regulations and guidelines of EA, ILAC and IAF.
